I invite you to consider therapy as an opportunity to find your stable ground and come home to yourself.
Therapy can provide an opportunity to explore challenges relating to behaviours, sensations, emotions, and thoughts. In a safe and supported environment you will also have the opportunity to examine the impact these experiences may have on your sense of wellness in relationship to yourself, to others, and to the world.
The therapeutic process also invites in curiosity to learn to understand patterns and to discover the strengths you already possess and find new ways of coping to support wellness through enhanced connection, hopefulness, and a sense of thriving on your unique path of life.

My approach to therapy might be different than you’d think.
in a session, you can expect:
both beauty and mess
validation and pushing (empathy, compassion, and irreverence)
grit and gentleness
steadfastness and patience
a radically authentic experience
What is radical authenticity? How is it different?
I am genuinely compelled to connect with you, and I want to support your time in the therapy office to be grounded in radical authenticity, that is, to spark curiosity and invite engagement. I support safe and effective treatment, and I believe this is grounded in the relationship through genuine human connection- tears, laughter, and everything in between. I envisioned Stable Grounding Psychology to be a place where assumptions are challenged and diverging opinions are welcomed! My approach to therapy acknowledges you are unique given your lived experiences. Treatment involves respecting your preferences, needs, hopes, and helping find what works best for you.

I don’t:
- try to read your mind (I would be out of a job!)
- assume I know what is best for you
- believe mental illness must result in judgment (we CAN do better)
- expect you to figure this all out over night (slow and steady…)
I do:
- support open sharing of therapy processes so you know what your treatment involves
- share my humanity through appropriate self-disclosure
- encourage your RIGHT to CHOOSE- yes, no, maybe, I don’t know, pass
- encourage respectful disagreement
- call you a client as opposed to a patient
- welcome real language in session-I want you to show up as yourself!
